On Friday of last week Google celebrated the 20^th anniversary of the popular Pac Man video game by offering users the chance to play the game free of cost simply by heading over to Google.  The game was imprinted onto the Google Doodle.

Due to the fact that so many users enjoyed playing Pac Man on the doodle, Google decided to continue to offer access to it free.  Users that clicked on it were immediately invited to play for free and those who Tweet found the free gift as well.

Pac Man was first popularized in video game format and the Google game version is very similar with the same classic 8 bit classic Atari box screen and the original bugs, sounds, logic, and graphics.

Players in the Google version can control Pac Man by using the arrow keys or simply clicking a direction directly on the maze.  If you get far enough along, Mrs. Pac Man can be controlled by using the WASD block on the left side of your keyboard.

Those who are looking to get in on the Pac Man thrill can head to Google’s special location for the game, www.google.com/pacman and even click on the coin option to invite a second player to join in the fun.
