In an attempt to attract more horse racing fans to the sport of kings, towards the end of April free admission will be offered to potential fans at eight courses as part of a “Racing for Change” initiative.  Over a period of six days the courses will be opened for free the period of April 26^th to May 1^st.

Included in the free course entry are some of the largest racing venues in Britain such as Doncaster, Ascot, Kempton, and Goodwood.

The tracks will offer evening and afternoon meeting admissions for free, as well as steeplechase races and races that take place on the Flat.

A PR drive at both the local and national level will help back the free promotion with a regional radio advertising campaign.  Chairman for Racing for Change, Chris McFadden, stated that the free fixtures will help offer the public a choice and chance to see the high quality that racing can provide.

McFadden continued to say that since there is a fixture on a Saturday afternoon and three fixtures that take place in the evening people should be able to find a time that fits into their schedules to attend along with their families.

It is up to the racecourses themselves to decide where free admission will be granted with some choosing to limiting the free offer to general enclosures although those who head to the Ascot racecourse will be able to get complimentary access to the grandstand.
