Free solar PV panels

solar 300x268 Free solar PV panelsAs more and more people become interested in getting solar PV panels installed on their south-facing roofs for free, a new company will be giving a convincing offer to homeowners.

HomeSun is a free power company, and they are currently looking for 100,000 homes on which they will be able to install free solar panels throughout the next three years.  They are looking to install over 2000 panels in the next 12 months.

The proposition, which was revealed on August 5th, has already prompted tens of thousands of people to submit enquiries to the company. The HomeSun website contains a free tool that  allows consumers to see whether their home would be eligible for the free panels. HomeSun has a basic buyout scheme that will permit customers to pay for the equipment’s costs over a 25-year period.

HomeSun’s business model runs so that they will install the solar PV panels for free, and maintain it throughout a 25-year contract term. Throughout this period, the company will regain the investment and create revenue from the Feed-in-Tariff that was introduced by the government this year. Prices for the equipment can vary, but quotes are typically over £10,000. Still, the company maintains that prices will lower over time.

With the Feed-in-Tariff, electricity companies are made to pay for each unit of energy that renewable sources generate in homes. This type of charge has been used successfully in other countries like Germany.
