auction Bonhams offer free Scottish valuationsBonhams Scotland will be arriving in Chester on May 10th and will be giving away free valuations at the local Chistleton Road Bonhams shop.  For an appointment at the store or a home visit appointment call 01244 353 121 before the 10th.

The firm is searching for objects and art that have a Scottish overture to sell at their annual Scottish Sale in Edinburgh which will take place from August 17th to August 20th.

Bonhams is the only Scottish international fine art auction firm and its annual August sale has been cemented as the best place to sell items that have a Scottish heritage.

For example, a James Stuart Park painting discovered in Liverpool brought in £23,000 in 2003.  Additionally, since it is an international firm it offers sales rooms located in Hong Kong, San Francisco, London, New York, Tokyo, and Dubai, which means that they can offer objects at high prices at other venues that are spread out around the world if the opportunity would result in higher sale prices.

Miranda Grant, the managing director of Scotland Bonhams, stated that there are families that descend from Scotland throughout the world with a great majority of those located in England.  Grant went on to say that this is a great chance for people to come in and see how much their old family heirlooms may be valued at because the Scottish sale has earned a solid reputation with buyers and is one of the best places to secure excellent bids.
