New apps unveiled for smartphones

One of many new applications to be released for smart phones includes Clear. This is an application that is designed for the iPhone and will improve a user’s productivity. It is a to-do list with a very user-friendly interface, unlike some other existing organisational applications for the phone.

Another new application is Swarmbit, which is being called a social proximity network. This is a way for people to share information on their phone, such as music, photos and video with people who were nearby them.

The classified website Gumtree is also taking to the iPhone and as well as having access to all of the usual adverts you can find on their website, it is also possible to find items that are close to you by using the phones GPS facility. Currently this application is only available on the iPhone.

A new application that has recently come to the Android operating system is a mobile version of The Sims. This is very similar to the well-known PC game where people can create characters and control the various aspects of their lives. It is very much influenced by the popular Facebook game of the same name but unfortunately, at the moment they are not connected.

Pinmark is being billed as a journal that is capable of writing itself. It creates a timeline of the photos you take, the locations you visit, and the music you listen to. Of course, this has caused some concerns about privacy but the creators of the application have stressed that the information is not shared online, everything is gathered on the iPhone itself.

For those who enjoy KFC, the company have just released an application that will offer people directions to the nearest Kentucky Fried Chicken. This application has currently only been developed for the iPhone.
