ITunes, the best known and most popular online music venue in the world, is about to present yet another free music festival, this time from the Roundhouse in Camden, London.
They’ll be kicking off the festival on July 1 with Scissor Sisters, a three-time Brit award-winning band that mixes disco, rock, pop and a few other ingredients. The next performance on July 2 will be the iconic crooner, Tony Bennett and the headliner on July 3 will be Ozzy Osbourne, one of the ‘fathers’ of heavy metal sound and fury.
The entire month of July will be a showcase for a selected series of performers, each one to play a once-only gig to a live audience at the Roundhouse. The rest of the month’s line-up has yet to be announced, but should be coming soon. There will be competitions arranged by the organisers for free tickets to the live performances, but each of the concerts will be recorded and subsequently available for free download on iTunes.
The first three performers are a good indication of the variety to be expected in the line-up for the 4th through the 31st of the month. Since iTunes makes every effort to cater to the taste of every sort of music lover, you’re sure to hear some of what you most enjoy.
Ozzy Osbourne has declared that he’s delighted with the gig and looking forward to an intimate performance at the Roundhouse. Scissor Sisters’ Babydaddy said the group “can’t wait” to perform in this venue, and Tony Bennett said he loves performing in Britain because audiences are so “warm and welcoming”.
