Pick a location for a new Co-op store and win £500 worth of vouchers

Stuart Hookins in the head of acquisitions and portfolio strategy at the supermarket and has stated, “As a group we very much value the opinions of our members and the suggestions and views that they put forward to the group are always welcome. They make an enormous difference to the way we do business and this new competition is just an extension of that.

“In the next three years we are planning to open 300 new Co-operative supermarkets and a great way for our members to contribute to this process is by telling us where they would appreciate a new store.” The members of the Co-operative group are mostly the groups employees, which number over 100,000 people. They can easily enter the competition on the website and can submit any property that is currently on the market.

In the last five weeks the group have opened nearly 15 new shops across the UK and it is estimated that the 300 stores that will be created over the next three years will employ some 7000 people. In the next few months the company is planning to open 20 stores in very diverse locations across the country.

The company is currently the fifth largest retailer in the UK and it is looking for stores that are around 15,000 square foot in size. They have stated that those who suggest local community as well as high street locations are most likely to be chosen. More information about becoming a member can be found on the company’s website.
